Shamim Sarif has become one of my favorite authors as of late. I came across her book I Can’t Think Straight one day as I was looking for something new to read. I have to say that I love her writing! The book was completely lovable and the movie was a wonderful way to spend my evening, and many more to come as I continue to watch it over and over again. This woman works magic with words. Reading her prose is like experiencing good food. All of the senses come alive, even while actively using just one, and her way of storytelling is so vibrant and utterly alive, that I can’t help but learn something new about the craft of writing every time I pick up one of her books. I’ve since read her other two novels and I they get nothing but the same glowing recommendations that I would give this first novel that I read of hers. The way she has taken a simple premise about two women who fall in love and has woven such a deeper tale around it, one that speaks of cultural divides and social stratification even while centering on love, is just amazing and the result is breath-taking. I applaud her for writing love stories that will stay with me through both rainy and sunny days. Definitely my kind of author. My only piece of advice for those looking for new reading material in this wonderful season is: don’t’ forget her name. She is a treasured author in my opinion and I can’t wait to see what she does next. Yeah…I loved it that much 🙂 Hugs and love, Ava

Not yet. Is it good? Thanks for stopping by!
I guess you will like it. I have one more recommendation once you give me a feedback on this 🙂
Ive heard mixed reviews on the movie. The fact that I Cant Think Straight was an amazing book first was kind of what drew me in to the movie. I’ll let you know what i think.
